Getting an agent, an audio deal, a foreign language
deal, or a publishing deal is possible.

You just need the right tools.

Have you been querying agents and not getting the response you are expecting?

Do you want an audiobook deal, or an international foreign-right deal?

Are you approaching publishers and getting nowhere?

What may be missing is the right kind of information and pitch package.

Agents, publishers, and scouts need: A polished, compelling pitch letter/email with USP statements, log lines, and hooks.

  1. Author and market sheet that shows you are professional and ready for a deal.
  2. A market viability document that will separate you from the rest of the authors querying
  3. Industry sales data with great comp titles to show the market needs your book.

Are you overwhelmed by the idea of coming up with these items? You are not alone.

When querying agents and sending pitches to publishers, one of the biggest barriers facing authors is lack of sales and marketing data.

Acquisition editors and agents have specific things that they need to convince publishers to offer an author a contract. There is so much more to getting an agent or publishing deal than just writing a good book.

This 4-week class will give you the tools you need and that scouts, movie producers, agents, and publishers are looking for when considering taking on a book.

Regularly $499, this class is being offered in October for just $299!

Talcott Notch Agent, Amy Collins and New Shelves’ Keri Barnum will share insights
and work with you to create a polished and compelling pitch kit.

By the end of this course, you will have what you need to dramatically increase your attractiveness to agents and publishers. This course is perfect for self-published authors, debut authors, and traditionally published authors and anyone that wants to sell the rights to their existing books or get an agent for their next projects.

We will cover:

  1. Week One (Oct 4): The ideal pitch letter/email. What it needs to include and HOW to get it all in there. How to pitch with USPs (unique selling propositions), hooks, and market awareness.
  2. Week Two (Oct 11): Market viability and author platform sheets. We will give you everything you need to create an attractive and data-driven author market sheet.
  3. Week Three (Oct 18): The Package. We will separate you from the rest of the pack with a market viability document. Sales and market-focused data will be provided for your specific title and pitch.
  4. Week Four (Oct 25): A hands-on lab where we create the pitch, proposal, and author kits for you to start sending out.

STUDENTS WHO FINISH THE CLASS WILL HAVE:

  • A personalized comp list with sales data.
  • Author Sheet templates to create an attractive author CV and bio sheets.
  • A powerful resource kit with websites, apps, tools, and lists that will make your search for your deal MUCH easier.
